Financial Management

Our goal is to prepare God's people for works of services, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reached into the unity in faith in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the full measure of perfection found in Christ.

In I Corinthians 12:28, the gift of administration is listed among the core of spiritual gifts.  And, in I Corinthians 14:40, we also read that “everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.”

Hence our church leaders, administrators and members in the congregation are called to use their gifts to provide for orderly functioning of the church.  They realized that this work must be God centered, led by the spirit of God, and accomplished with a servant heart.

We do not have stable financial source as feel to be so poor financially, but we are rich in the faith.  Our main source of income is relay on individual contributions through their offerings, pledges, donation and dues. Throughout the history since the inception of this group before they join the Global Methodist they have been functioning under personal incomes. Church servants, ordained leaders such as clergies, with all their ranks have no salaries.

Everyone in the church including the church leaders are working and they have their own jobs that they do for their living and at the same time each member is obligated to pay tithe and offering plus in-kind donations and fundraising for emergency cases.

The church has central account that is managed by the General Board of Finance and Economic Planning in which each church required to pay 10% of its income to the central account. Only the General Mission Supervisor is paid from the varied amount of money that comes from the central account.  The Board set policies for financial needs and announce such need to all churches in every quadrennial session, excluding the emergency case that may require urgent fundraisings before quadrennial session take place.

Current Financial Needs

In order to improve our financial system, we need to create investment projects, such as:

Agricultural Development Project: To own several tractors that will plough the earth and will generate the income for the churches in the Nuba Mountains.

Equipment for Grinding Meals & Water Improvement: To enable local civilians in remotely isolate areas especially in rural settings to extract water from pits and aggregate the gardens that shall grow all types of fruits and vegetables to assist in marketing of crops as well as the equipment for grinding meals to enable the suffering women to achieve self-sufficiency.

Macroeconomic Tool: Such as sewing machines to enable women in the church to do handcraft works for the church and the community and generating a tiny source of income

Property Management

In fact, the physical presence of the church building in the community stands as a gigantic symbol of faith and hope. Though a well-maintained facility may be but window dressing, to those outside the community of faith it may be the bridge that opens their hearts to the gospel.

While the church is basically people and not buildings, an attitude of user-friendly facilities is becoming a concern of both church leadership and church architects. Our people in Sudan and Egypt, and particularly in the Nuba Mountains impressed with this footprints as many of them left other churches with stable buildings and chose to be member in the Global Methodist which has no any stable buildings other than praying under trees, light buildings built with grasses, wood where sun and heavy rain can come through them, they are vigorously  insisted  to be in such sphere with determination to follow the lord which is rich in his glory and has abundance of resources with their full confidence that they will ultimately be enriched by lords presence in their lives. So, our current properties include the lands and operational facilities, musical Instruments and Transportation.

Hence our church leaders, administrators and members in the congregation are called to use their gifts to provide for orderly functioning of the church.  They realized the essentiality of maintaining these properties.

In terms of lands and operational facilities: the church owns sixteen lands that they build churches and sanctuaries in the Nuba Mountains liberated areas, plus four agricultural lands. But in far north Sudan and Egypt the churches are still struggling to own lands to build sanctuaries. The current sanctuary places are rented facilities and other are still under registration process.

In terms of musical instruments: the church mostly owns some traditional musical instrument which are manually made, such as drums and horns, etc.… In the near future, church plan to buy some modern musical instruments.

In terms of transportation: the church is in extreme need for transportation, such as car for head of church, motorcycles or bicycles for church ministers to use them for reaching out to their local church and avoid the rides of donkey.
